We got a house! A beautiful big house that we fell in love with the moment we saw the ad, and we just KNEW it was meant to be ours. We made the first available appointment to see it, drove by it several times before we finally got in. When we got there to look at it, we were devistated to learn that an investor who wanted to keep it as rental property had made an offer sight-unseen the day before, contingent on looking at it a week later. We still looked at it, loved it, put in a bid for it, and spent the week despairing that someone had stolen OUR HOUSE out from under us. We were far too certain that the investor would take it because it was in such good condition (for a rental) with steady rental income from responsible tenants - why wouldn't he? But the night before the investor was supposed to look at it, he called and said he was withdrawing the big because he decided to buy a house in MD instead.
Celllllllllll-a-brate good times COME ON!!!!! It was a dance party in the house, and we've been flying high and stressing out ever since.
Since my brain will not possibly function well enough to keep track of who I've remembered to tell what, I decided to start this journal to post pictures and record things about our life in and work on the house (though I'll admit to being very sporadic about both). Feel free to add comments, though please identify who you are, since it will just say "anonymous" otherwise, unless you have a LiveJournal.
